Photographs taken during the 2013 Yoga Rave in Salt Lake City. The event was sponsored by The Art of Living and the Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable. While the presentation about meditation was happening it struck me that through photography I find the same meditative qualities they were espousing. I know that may sound a bit sappy or even strange. It is a state of concentration, relaxation, and deep focus that a photographer works in. At least that is how it is for me. When I’m finished, I often don’t remember taking the photograph. I remember being there and the people I meet, but the act of taking the image… My mind is some place else. It is a kind of instinctive act rather than a mental activity. It was a wonderful event, and I hope I am invited back next year.
